TEQUILA AWARDS BALL

First up was 'Best Evening Duo' which went to Rhythm & Resistance a Punk show hosted by Charlotte Halloway & Gaz Martin. Gaz took over from Jane Hughes-Wynn half way through the year. They beat off stiff competition from 2nd place DJ Skillkid & Miss Info's Hip Hop show.

Then 'Best Daytime Presenter', went to Jordan Harrison, who's 'Jordan & Guests' show was a big hit in the polls.

'Best Daytime Duo' went to Kieran Prout & Louise Mulroy, who have forged a good on air bond from an hour every monday.

'Best Evening Presenter' was Tim Eggington. Tim is an infectious presenter, and does a pop music show called 'Popsical'.

'Best Group', given to the best show with 3 or more presenters went to 'Thursdays In The Studio' with Jack Davies, Simone Fitzgerald and Chris Seymour. This section was particularly strong, and voting was furious. The TITS crew have featured some fantistic celebrity interviews over the year, and fully deserved their award.

Following the voting awards come the special awards. These were chosen by Adam and Arielle.

First up was the 'Innovation Award'. This went to Kevin Moore and his interview based, National Geographic topical style 'The Moore Show'. There is nothing else of its kind on the station.

Holly Wilson was named as 'Miss Tequila' and Tom Hemstock as 'Mr Tequila', thanking both for their hard work and efforts over the year, going above and beyond that of others for the good of the station.

There were 4 special thanks medals - to Matt Skinner (Promotions), David Peek (For News), Gregg Bayes (Assistant Manager) and finally Lucy Lambert, a member who does not present, but is always around to help out.

To end the awards with a big finale was the 'Best Show' Award. This was partly voting, and strongly based on what the committee deemed to be the most reflective of the station, and also for hard work, effort and development. The Winners were of Best Show were the 'Tequila Live Sessions' hosted by Joe Satari and Sara Hexter, produced by Holly Wilson and Laura Barrett, but also included a team of Matt Bloxham, Tom Hemstock, Gaz Martin, Amy Smith and others. A real team effort which goes into getting unsigned bands live on Tequila.

There were also two Runners up, being Thursdays In The Studio and Tim Eggington's Popsical, who both also won earlier in the night!

"Congratulations to all the award winners. Although everyone deserves something for the commitment and hard work they have put in over the past few months. It is not a popularity contest, it only works when everyone pulls together. The awards were held to celebrate the fact that Tequila Radio is here!" Adam Perkins- Station Co-ordinator
